Welcome to the Divine Ya Ya
 ELAN 7700 Reading Club!

In the Spring of 2002, I took a graduate course, ELAN 7700 Creating Literate Communities, at the University of Georgia.  Little did I know at the onset of the semester that my life would be changed by the experiences and people of this course!  I had the great fortune to learn and read with Dr. Mark Faust and my divine ya ya reading buddies:  Linda, Tara, and Holly!  Words cannot convey the magic that occurred every Wednesday evening---all I can say is that I am fortunate to have experienced such a great book club, and I hope to create similar reading experiences for my students.

Many thanks to Dr. Faust, Linda, Tara, and Holly---you inspired me and rekindled my passion for reading, teaching, and learning.  You are truly the best!

Aderhold Hall, our hallowed meeting place
Linda ponders how "fabbity fab fab" we are!
Holly asks, "What did you say Owen Meany did with the stuffed armadillo?!?!"
Tara prepares to share a poem with the group---we love her poems!
"Oh, Buffy, please don't give away the ending!" pleads Holly to herself!
"Isn't Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging a chick book?" asks Dr. Faust.
Guest psychology student Chris Creed contemplates the wisdom and depth of the Ya Ya book discussions.
